Boothbay Island to Rent
Boothbay Harbour, Maine
7 Bedrooms, 6 & 1/2 Baths - 1 of the bedrooms is large enough to serve as a children's dormitory and sleeps 5.

Superbly located in Gulf of Maine, just over a half mile from the mainland and about three and one-half miles from Boothbay Harbor, Boothbay Island is an exceptional 68 + acre island archipelago whose main island offers more than 12,000 feet of varied oceanfront. Here one can enjoy rolling fields, quiet meadows, exposed granite ledges, and a magnificent shoreline that wanders over protected sand beaches, secluded coves, rocky headlands, and crashing surf.

On the main island, a wealth of wild berries and roses attracts an unusual variety of birds, while the Hypocrites, two smaller islands to the east, are home to many families of seals.
Settled in the 1600s as a fishing outpost, Boothbay Island was abandoned in 1675 with the start of King Philip's war. In 1925, a Unitarian minister named John Wilson purchased the island and built a large stone retreat center and summer home called Greystones Hall. The two-story residence is situated on the highest point of the mile-long island with 360 degree views of the mainland and ocean.

Convenient to municipal an international airports and supplied with power from the mainland, this historic, 5,000 + square foot, Gothic-style home has been recently landscaped and remodeled in 1995 as a light and airy summer retreat.

Included are a historic fisherman's cottage, heated Gunite swimming pool, and deepwater dock. For added recreation, the Boothbay region offers sailing, fishing, golf, and tennis.
A chef, boat captain, and maid service come with in addition to the use of the island's three boats including a 34-foot cabin cruiser for local fishing and sightseeing. All meals and beverages of your choice are included. Have lobster from the Island's won traps every night if you wish! The house can comfortably accommodate 10 people. Additional guests may be accommodated on a per diem basis. Staff quarters are separate from the main house. NO PETS ALLOWED!
