Botswana is one of the finest travel destinations in the African continent. It is among the best places in the world for exploring wildlife and to take safaris. Okavango Delta region, is the most popular region among the tourists. During the rainy season this region becomes a maze of waterways, islands, and lakes. Other than visiting the wildlife reserves you can also do the following exciting activities:
- Fly over parts of Botswana in a hot-air balloon.

Once the Visitors reach their camp by a light aircraft, they can then safari by vehicle, on foot, by motorboat, riding in a makoro canoe, a horse, ride a quad bike or even an elephant. The transportation modes in Botswana are a fun and fascinating part of the safari experience. To protect the country's natural assets, the government has instituted a policy of promoting and encouraging low-volume, high-cost tourism. PEOPLE: San people have lived here for thousands of years using the ancient methods of hunting and gathering. The Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park in the north are areas of outstanding natural beauty, rich in animal life.

CLIMATE: Summer: November to March. High temperatures average 85-95°F with lows around 65°F. Winter: June to August. Daytime temperatures around 75°F with nighttime lows around 40°F.

ECONOMY OVERVIEW: Botswana has one of the world's highest economic growth rates. Through fiscal discipline and sound management, Botswana has transformed itself from one of the poorest countries in the world to a middle-income country. Diamond mining has fueled much of the expansion. Tourism, financial services, subsistence farming, and cattle raising are other key sectors.

CENTRAL KALAHARI ACCOMMODATION / SAFARI LODGES

Haina Safari Lodge, Central Kalahari Game Reserve
This luxury lodge is situated in the heart of the Central Kalahari, bordering the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, about 30 kilometres North of Deception Valley. The setting of Haina Safari Lodge is classically African, relaxed and informal while catering for exclusive needs. The lounge, dining room and bar areas have a typically African ambience that is reflected in the décor of rich wood and thatch. The lodge accommodates 18 guests in private, secluded units, all with private decks, a combined bedroom and en-suite bathroom. All units are furnished in subtle earth tones and dark woods in a contemporary African theme and reflect the bush atmosphere that is unique to Africa, while providing complimentary tea and coffee, fragrant linen and made-in-Africa furnishings.
Kanana Wilderness - Motswiri Lodge, Ghanzi, Central Kalahari
Motswiri Lodge is a self-owned and managed game lodge situated in the heart of the Kanana Wilderness. The lodge is built around a collection of Calcrete pans which are an essential water source for much of the game in the area.  During the Winter months pans dry up, leaving just a small just a small puddle for the animals to drink from. However in a good rainy season, the pans can fill up completely and maintain their water for almost 12-months.  The Lodge is made up of an assortment of luxury, walk in safari tents. All the tents have comfy beds and offer en-suite toilets and showers, with hot and cold water. Each tent has a porch with a table and chairs, where you can still quietly and watch the game come down to drink.

CHOBE ACCOMMODATION / SAFARI LODGES - CHOBE NATIONAL PARK

Chobe Marina Lodge (Three Cities Group), Chobe

Elephant Valley Lodge, Chobe
The Chobe National Park in Botswana is home to the largest elephant population in the world. As the region is barrier free, this allows for large numbers of big game to move freely through these protected reserves.  Straddling the game rich area between Chobe and Zimbabwe’s Matetsi reserve lies the Kasane Forest Reserve.
